I like good rap (old school, like RUN DMC, Cypress Hill, Jurassic 5).
But the gangster rappers seem to reside at the mall where I live, and walking by Safeway and 7-11. Lots of wannabe rap superstars, who try to live large, big house, 5 cars, and in charge, in my area though. So it might not be the best representation of where the rap scene is.

Jay and Silent Bob come to mind. . .

I knew a kid who was Jay exactly. When I first saw Clerks I nearly flipped!
I'm with Phil on the old school rap (and hip hop). It's all self-congradulatory, derivitaive, and takes it self way too seriously now. Now Eminem sucks, too.
Anyone remember RBL Posse?

May I refer you to the definitive source on the subject: 8Mile starring the classically trained actors Eminem and Brittany Murphy. Additionally the film shows the best work of an actress known as Kim Basinger.

I liked 8 Mile mostly because I went to school in Detroit and recognized everything in it. My ex went to Marygrove which is on 6 Mile - a worse street than 8 mile, but I was near downtown (Detroit Institute of Arts, Library, and the African American Museum which was always a ghost town).

HH and Zumiez at Alderwood. . .
Strip clubs? I highly doubt they'd want someone distributing information that's anything but for their establishment. Wouldn't hurt to ask, though.

The oldschool i like is Biggy and Pac. But you will find a lot of rap fans in Highschools and at some hip hop clubs.

Lol, so a strip club is an "it" spot, but a liquor store isn't?
