MBC installed

So I got my car back with all of the body work done, put my proline wheels on this weekend (I'll have to get new ones soon) and Matt and I installed a manual boost controller that Vikash made on Sunday.

I was out driving around with Vikash's scan tool prog last night, trying to adjust my boost for around 11 psi until I can get an intercooler and I had some issues. I was on a country road and I dialed the boost in until it read around 11.3 wot, everything seemed fine. The first couple tries I had it around 13, wow!! I can see the lure. Anyway, I tweaked it until it seemed ok but then when i got on the highway and fully boosted it at 40 mph I hit fuel cut. I was really flying when I did but I did. Then when I kept boosting it it would cut every time. I adjusted it down to where it read around 10.5 and I haven't hit fuel cut again but every now and then I would read an instant or two of around 12.5 ~ 13 psi. Any ideas why this might be happening?

It could be boost creep in the higher gears or that the turbo is spooling up to the 10.5 psi real quick and then slowly raising under load like...uh..boost creep.

That or it could be that the mbc is sticking sometimes and that is causing boost spikes.

It could also be that sometimes it's leaking and other times it's not really. Didn't you say that Vikash suspected that that MBC leaked sometimes?

Just a couple ideas. We can try to fine tune it maybe tonight when I get off work, if I can get away I'll call you.

:)

Sounds like a good idea, even when it boosts full it never reads a steady psi, it kinda jumps all over the place. I'm working until 7:00 so, yeah, give me a call if you can get away.

Yea, sounds like boost creep. Set it a little low, get a FCD to prevent it getting really high.

Yea, modding is wicked addictive, but that's no problem with me :).
