hello,

before anyone screams search let this be known that this thread is not about problems with the power locks (which has been covered extensively i believe)

just wondering if anyone experiencing the same thing.

as stated above my locks work fine.

i am curious abut a situation that involves a passanger. basically when i open my driver door using the inside handle (while car is locked) it allows me to opne door as usual without unlocking door. well on rare occasions and only when i have passenger it will also unlock the pass side door as well (not the rear doors). as if it knows because the pass door was in use that some one is sitting there and likely needs to be let out as well.

i cannot however reproduce this effect. maybe the pass seat has a sensor in it :?

anyone have any ideas? perhaps the wiring diagram holds some secrets? or perhaps my car just acting up?

would be nice it always worked like that tho, because i always get out of my car using the handle and not unlocking all the doors, and the passanger sits there baffled by our crazy lock system trying to figure out why they cant get out.

just pulling the handle, or pushing the lock mechanism as well?

yeah, by just pulling the handle, it will simultaneously unlock the pass side front door only as i am opening my door.

i never use the lock/unlock button because of its inferior design, unless i have to.

I dont think the lock/unlock button has an inferior design. I rather like it

to me, it requires too much time and effort to operate. (which is why i borught this up).

subaru realized this, and therefore followed suit with other manufactures by providing a simple switch that is easily flicked in one direction.

I just put an alarm with keykess entry on my 90 legacy so I had to install an actuator in the drivers door. It is a big switch from what I used to do because the stupid lock was broken on the drivers side. It would just turn and turn with the key so I had to open the pass door and climb thru. I had been doing this for about a year now. Being cheap sucks!!

I paid 10.00 for the alarm, 20.00 for a great actuator, and 6.00 for the relays. Unlocking my doors without crawling thru my car....priceless.

Dates? LOL!! I am married with two children. Dates are the least of my worries. I am was more concerned about my kids running away before I can get them in the car. They are sneaky too.

Thank the lord for That Nanny show.

Oh yeah....the back seat has two car seats and every spongebob squarepants toy known to mankind in it.
