I saw a Subaru near Baltimore yesterday. 92-94 stlye wagon with a turbo grill and turbo bumper, NO scoop on the hood and NO alloy wheels.. On the back where mine says "turbo" it said "22X".
Any body know what this is? I did a search and nothing came up.

Did it look like an OEM badge? Was it a sticker?

It "LOOKED" oem, I saw the car in my mirror, first I thought it was a turbo, then I saw no scoop, so I slowed down let it pass me, I asked my wife to read the back. It looked like chrome numbers, my wife said 22X. I guess he could have did it himself, but I don't know.

About a year ago or so, I had seen a maroon colored 92-94 wagon, that had a "2.2GX" badge on the rear. I don't remember exactly what the 2.2GX was, but maybe that's what it was you saw.

There was definitely only three digits. It is possible that he did it himself. I have a bunch of car badges that I have on my garage wall. I took the two S's from "Cutlass" and stuck them on my old roadster as a joke, (along with "E350" off a Ford truck) maybe the guy just wanted to do what he is doing to us right now. These kinda people are really sick and need help.

OMG .....your kidding, It's the sister of the 22b and I believe you just witnessed a 1 of 1 sighting.
I'm sure he's a poser tryin to stir shit up.

Yeah, I've also seen the 2.2GX badge before... That must mean there probably was a 2.2X also, I dont see why anyone would go to the trouble of making a 2.2X badge for a car that no one but a select few sick people(us) would even take a second look at.

It's a killer who's trying to lure us into talking to him so he can make his move.

The 'GX' is a UK designation, I believe, possibly Canadian also due to the number of sightings. Never heard of the 'X'.

The badge or the car? The car's just a Legacy with that badge instead of the L or LSi or whatever. I assume the font is the same as ours, but don't know for sure.

it is possible they put a turbo grill and bumper on the car.

sure, if it's been hit, that's a very good possibility, considering the rarity of even its factory options.
