Today was awesome!

I did an FMIC install on my friends 2005 WRX. He's only got 8000 miles on her, and already has stage 3 :)

Check out all the pics :)

I did all of the cutting, and most of the hanging. Came together well, and he said the car idles much better than it did before, lol.

The TurboXS setup is AWESOME, but there was a LOT of modding necessary for the 2005. The kit is designed for 02 to 04's, and not a lot of the stuff was the same. It came out fine though, we just needed to tweak it a bit.

I am super impressed. I did the cutting (into 8000 mile old WRB paint) with a 3" high speed cut off wheel at 20,000 RPM. It was wild, but I got it right the first time.

I can't draw worth shit, but I can cut the fuck out of a bumper perfectly :)

Hell ya Phil, that looks great! Looks like it was fun too.

So, do you think you're better prepared for the eventual FMIC installs for our cars? ;)

Why?

I raced a 98 3000GT VR-4 from a 1st gear roll, and we were dead even to the top of 4th.

The car is fast enough. That car will soon be in the 350 to 400whp range, so he'll be faster than me.

That is one clean install, good job. That looks like one nice WRX and 350-400whp is crazy. What kind of rubber is he going to use to put down all that power?

That's awesome. What's he going to be using for the transmission/driveshafts?

He's using some cheap 225/40/18 Kuhmo's for now. It's going to be more a street car with bling and go fast. He wasn't really planning on going stage4+ this soon.

He's gonna have a straight cut gearbox built.

350 to 400 is the estimate based on another guy with similar mods (who put 398 down or some such). That will be on Race-Gas though.

He's looking for 300 or so on 93 octane.

That's awesome all around Phil. A full straight cut gear box on a street car though? More power to him though, hehe get it...

It's not that bad, really. I could easily do it....

Finished the WRX today. I got to drive it, and I would be dangerous to own a regular WRX... It'd have a JDM Spec-C motor in it before 10,000 miles were up. It'd have to.

A local is running a JDM EJ25T from a JDM Forester. I'm pretty stoked to hear how it runs. Expected to push around 500 to the wheels, making one of the faster WRX's around here.
