Thats a really good idea but i think they should have put the gate at more of an 45 degree angle than a 90 so the gas would flow out of it more smoothly.

thats pretty cool, but a regular cable operated one appeals to me more. with that one you cant get on boost without it getting a lot louder. maybe you could put a valve in the vacuum line or something so you could keep it closed if you wanted to.
why arent there more downpipes with a built in dump valve? I bet those would sell really well. If I ever get around to a turbo swap I'll probably use a dump valve in my exhaust.
with dump valves, do people usually route them out to the side of the car with some pipe or just leave the opening somewhere under the car right on the exhaust?

There are Dp's on the market that have the same concept going but are at a 45 degree. That 90 will be hard on flow.

One other thing you cad do is use a divorced DP and not run the wastgate side back in to the exhaust.

I'd rather just get a good 2.50-3in with a good muffler, it's not too loud for my taste.

the qtp electric dump down pipe costs 600 bucks though. if it didnt id get that. you can buy the gate and actuator adn put on a 45 if you want .

you can control the gate with a ball valve or a mbc. if you drive chill you can get around without getting on boost. its not a fun way to get around but it works

I could see myself installing ont of those wrong. Just putting the unit in the flow of the downpipe and not having a TEE for it. I'd wonder why I kept blowing turbos.
