Lookie what I got, not one, but two, I'm quite happy.
The white one is a '92, 126,000 miles with a bad 4EAT (slips in 3 & 4), is pretty clean and I found a good deal on a trans for it.
The Red one is a '91 5MT, 186,000 miles and needs a new clutch, its a little rough looking but its slated to be a swap donor for my RX.
Both seem to run pretty well and drive smooth, I have gotten to really see what they can do because of the tranny problems, but soon enough.
Does having two Turbo Legacys make me greedy?... screw it I dont care if it does.
happy, happy... joy, joy, joy

Did you get the Turbo car that was in Lewiston Id with tranny problems?
And sadly, we would rather you not use the red car as a donor car ( because it looks good, and 5mt's are hard to come by)
But hey, glad to see you and hope you stick around and input on the board.
( Hell, come up to Spokane and try the autocross if you aren't too far away)

Yeah, the ’92 is the one from Lewiston, I bought it for the swap, but it seems a bit too nice to part-out and I found a good deal on a tranns. Don’t know if I’ll keep it or sell it after it’s all fixed up, I’ll probably drive it for a while.
So I decided to get the ’91 5MT for the swap, the body isn’t too bad but the interior is pretty rough and dirty and its got a lot of little problems, but the drive train is in good shape (excluding the clutch). But now I’m getting some grief about the part-out idea (the old school guys on USMB are riding me too), I figure I’ll put the clutch in and drive it a bit, maybe I can trade it to someone with a wrecked one for my swap.

Ya, I know of someone who would be seriouslly interested in the 91.
And Im gonna just go ahead and give you some shit for thinking about parting it, but it does make since. You prolly paid lees for the whole car, than just the shortblock costs.
Your still a bastard

Look at me... I'm a bastard.
AWD_addict, yeah, Forester wheels with Hakkas, but they go back to the PO when he brings the stock alloys by.
I picked up the trans for the ’92 this weekend, it’s out of an Impreza, looks like it was rebuilt or replaced at some point. Seller said it seemed to have a little issue with the C-solenoid so I think I’ll swap mine in while I’m swapping the diff. Anybody know a good place to buy gaskets? I’m not sure if I’m gonna keep this car or not, I don’t really want one with the auto.
About the ’91 SS 5MT, yes it could be saved, but would never be really nice without some bodywork/repaint and a clean interior to swap in, mechanically it needs the clutch, an axel, front struts and maybe a brake job, a lot of little things need work. The plan right now is to fix the clutch/axel and drive it for a bit, but I really do want to do the EJ22T drivetrain swap into my RX. I would consider making a trade deal for a wrecked Turbo Legacy if somebody’s got one with a good drivetrain. I want all the mechanicals: engine, ECU/wiring, 5MT, VLSD, suspension, subframes, brakes, struts, wheels... pretty much everything but the sheet metal, glass and plastic (I figured all that will cost me $1500 or so... which is more than I paid for the '91).
Oh, for those that don’t know the RX, here’s a pic of a fine example (not mine).

P.S. thanks Laurel the (spelling) Queen
