Alright guys,

i kept this to myself too long and its time to get it out there, i am making my own tank! well i bought the metal today and i am bending the metal tomorrow, ordering the filler neck on friday, welding sometime next week when i get all the parts together, thanks to my job i have a place to fabricate all this. as soon as i'm ready i will test it and let you all know how it goes. , suposelly it will be a stronger and heavier tank due to the material used. i guess all the engineering schooling is paying off now hehehe, yeah right. maybe if all works out i may accept orders.

Take care

Right on, that's something I need to eliminate as a possible pain in the behind like Phil's episode that he had.

Great job just remember that there is a check valve on one of the lines to the expansion tank. Right now I can't recall which one.

It's built into the 7.5mm hose barb that connects to the upper right corner of the radiator. It only allows flow into the tank.

Welding begins tomorrow, it passed the strenght test!, it is bullet proof! I just ordered the filler necks, they'll get here on monday so this way i can weld them on to it next week and finally test it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went trought 5 router table bits to cut this thing it weights about 4 pounds, and thats only for parts. after its welding proccess it may increase a couple of pounds.

I'm excited i'll keep you posted

The nipple on the stock tank contains a check valve.

McMaster carries a wide variety of check valves that you can page through in their online catalog.

Usually any hose shop will have small check valves. That check valve is used to vent out any air that gets trapped in the top of the rad. I would just got to any local hose shop.
