What have you done to make a part "fit"???

Ok. I ordered this set of 19-21mm rear sways for the car. I get underneath and realize that the fit is just a bit off. So I call up and go WTF??

If you have been underneath the rear of the car, you will see that the tire carrier has a small extension below it about the size of a 2x4.

WELL, it seems that to get the bar to fit, you have to "make" this extension disappear by beating it upwards into the tire carrier.

IT seems they ( the people I ordered this part from ) have done this numerous times without issues.

BUT I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH BEATING MY CAR TO MAKE SOMETHING FIT!

So I suck up the experience (because I can't return the item as it will fit, but I refuse to beat my car)
And I ordered the whiteline 20-24 adj rear sway for the car ( as I am 99% sure this will fit without issues) from someplace else.

SO, what have YOU done to make something fit???????

I bet you got an impreza bar.

It doesn't fit if you have to beat on the car. I would raise hell.

Ask if a jaws-of-lifed roof makes a car a convertable, or if a b18c fits because you can close the hood on it.

This is what kills me: The part sticker says: 96-99 Legacy but they had to do the "fitting" to make it work on those years too.

So yes, it is a generic bar designed for an Impreza and will "fit" a legacy with a few "alterations"

Hence my frustration

I've cut the shit out of things to get them to work. I've "carefully" ground, cut, drilled, tapped, died, twisted, bent, and mangled most of my custom install jobs.

All part of the fun! :)

Meh, all part of "modifying" a car. Its just a car, not like its a baby or something. Shit, people even "modify" those.

Strange.

I thought only the 90-91's had that little notch.

I bought what was supposed to be a 93 turbo rear sway from a board member, and it wouldn't fit, because my tire carrier as well has this notch which the 93 bar didn't have a kink to accommodate for.

So I actually got a 91 turbo rear bar which did have the kink in it, and it fits perfect.

So your car must be a weirdo because it has that notch in it :?
