I was sitting at the light today, on the line and didn't really take note of the car beside me. Light goes green and they kinda start going for it so I kinda do to, neither really going for it, get up to the limit and ease up. That's about when they pass me and I notice it's a new Forester 2.5 XS, being driven by a pretty young girl ;). I kept up with her for a little while and she was doing pretty good getting through traffic. But sadly we didn't hit any more lights, if only I'd been paying more attention earlier... And yeah, I know I'd lost to her but it'd still be fun to race with a pretty girl driving a Subaru.

that was either a joke about the incident or a joke at my expense ... either is fine :) as my original post was probably a slight waste of bbs bandwidth

I had a cute girl in a honda try to keep up with me in the canyon to Estes Park the other day. She actually wasn't doing too bad besides the fact that her car has less power and front wheel drive. I was impressed and when she finally caught back up to me in town I gave her a little wave. I was just hoping she didnt have an accident behind me because then i would have felt bad but i think she drives that road a lot.

Don't feel bad the same thing happened to me yesterday, evidently I passed by a new 350Z yesterday and he heard my exhaust and pulled up next to me at the light. By the time I realized it, the light was green and he had the jump.
I would have lost anyway, but at least I would have been able to scare him for a few seconds....

Nice Dan.

I felt redemmed the other night when I pulled up at a light behind a new Lexus in the right hand lane. The intersection was dead empty and it was just us at the light so I went ahead and cut over to the other lane and hit my brakes hard at the line and then revved my engine. He revved his and you could see him just slightly creeping and when the other light went yellow you could hear both of us raise or RPM's and hold. Light went green, both launched hard, you could hear him sqeaking his tires too. I had him off the line, better launch and quick reaction time. By the time I was shifting into second he was pulling by me and kept going, we didn't take it up to very fast, approx. 45 and I just moved back over behind him since that's the lane I needed to make my turn. It was cool, he tapped his brake lights a few times for me and I flashed my lights. I knew I was going to lose, damn well have better considering it's a new lexus vs. my old NA legacy, but we both had a good time and it was clear he was showing some respect for taking him off the line.

As a side note, my friend with the STi, yesterday a stock looking Caviler came flying up on him, he put the pedal down and they were pretty even going into a turn, where the Caviler had to slow down some and Matt took him. However, after the turn the Cav kept coming and Matt downshifted into 3rd to try and keep Cav from over taking him ... it didn't work. They didn't get a chance to go at it again before Matt turned but it would have been close and very interesting since the Caviler obvisouly had a nice engine swap.

A Cavalier? Must have had a hell of an engine swap or is a handgrenade being rebuilt again as I write.

Yeah, a stock looking Cavilier, aside from rims and tires. Sleeper to the nth degree. I don't know what they managed to shoehorn in there but stringing out 3rd didn't help Matt in keeping the guy back. I really would have liked to see them have a good straight and to go from a stop or slight roll, I don't know if my money would be on the STi or not.

As trash as those cars I can totally respect a sleeper like that. Off the line, he'd be done with FWD, I imagine.

Was it a red Si? Mikkito might be back in town. I showed her that run and she fell in love with it...
