Oil in turbo What could be wrong?

So I want to sell the stock turbo off of my legacy motor, so being nice, I took it in to have it checked over. The gentleman at Wyoming Turbo said, " she spins free and the shaft play is like she was new. But see this oil,(pointed to exhaust inlet) I think you have a bad ring or getting blow by, you should check that out."

So what could be wrong, and what should I check. The car sat for a year before I bought it. It had perfectly clean oil. THere was a little carbon in the exhaust manifold when I took it off, but it didn't look shiny like oil. Any suggestions? I have started the car 1 time before pulling it from the legacy. It ran fine, didn't get to drive it though. It is a 1993 SS legacy with 159000 miles

Thanks, all of you geniuses.

That could be just blowby from the engine sitting for so long. That's a long time for it not to run so I'm sure there's more blowby than normal. If you drove it for a few weeks I wouldn't be surprised if it ran much better.

Well don't take it for gospel. I'm just saying that it is possible.
