Broke a front endlink

Anyone heard of this happening before?

I was entering a 25mph left under more braking than im generally comfortable with and heard a BANG. It startled me, and i fiddled with the wheel and ended up have a fun tank slapping experience - where the compressed suspension unloads and the car flops back and forth.

The left endlink was ripped in half where the bolt goes through. As it rides now, the front end is all mushy and it understeers horribly. I have another one lying around here somewhere that i'll have to throw in.

I guess this isn't a huge deal, but tankslappers scare the piss out of me, so if it's a common thing i think i ought to get some more durable ones. Does the plastic become more brittle over time? (I'd think not since its fibreglass reinforced) Could i have somehow messed it up when i unbolted it to change my axles last week?

Is this an OE endlink, and OE swaybar? I've heard of people breaking endlinks, but it's usually with upgraded bars, and/or the bad batch of Whiteline links from a couple years ago.

If you haven't already done so, check out my review on my recent front swaybar and endlink installation here:

You should be able to get some aftermarket endlinks for cheap. I think it makes a significant improvement. The improvment in feel has been amazing since the swaybar went in last week, and the Gp. N transmission mount went in last night.

OE bar, OE links, slightly stiffer springs- i should be loading the bar less than stock.

I've got some extra links, i just put one of those on, it doesn't look like a common problem.
