Legacy GT Twin Turbo tranny problem

I have a Legacy GT Twin Turbo (94). Gearbox was slipping and had rebuilt 3 times now. Have been told it is a glitch in the gearbox ECU. I have now been told that no one has come across this problem before. First time it was rebuilt it lasted 500 miles and then started slipping again. The last time it lasted for 34 miles, it started slipping after driving slow up to a round about and then pulling away normally (not giving it death). Have been told that the glitch is where the gearbox is trying to select another gear whilst it is still engaged in a gear, just for a split second. But you cannot feel anything - you cant feel it happening. The last time the gearbox was built, it had new bands, new valve body and I was told to get a new ECU for the gearbox. Now I am told it is not the ECU. I now dare not drive it, incase it goes again. I need to rectify the problem before I can drive it. Please help!PS: if it is the ECU where can I get one from

Hi Philljake. Welcome to the board! It would be helpful to know where in England you are.
However, as a first stop I can highly recommend Subaru Spares (Tel 01422 846868). I've used them and value them - they're really helpful. Other places that do import parts are Central Subaru in Wolverhampton (01902 636286) or Gibsons of Brock (01995 640542). I haven't used either of them but I know they can source import parts.
Cheers!

Has England grown since i was there in May? It wasnt big then. I stayed in Worcester and everything seemed like it was just over two hours away. And sorta was. Now Australia, thats big
As for your tranny, i've got a 96' GT Legacy auto and i havent had any probs with the comp at all, and it lives a hard life as i like driving it hard.
Sure the converter isnt playing up? I have heard of a lock up tourque coverter giving trouble but i dont know what the symptoms were.
Im looking at getting the valve body played with and an oil cooler for drag use. I was thinking about a stall converter but it boosts up from 1900rpm with the new tune so i dont need it as the standard one is fine.

I live within two hours of Worcester. My parents live in Elgin. That's not two hours from Worcester.
I guess it's still not as big as Oz though!
