hello. i have a 1990 Legacy LS AWD and i had a question. theres something wrong with the buttons that operate the fans and vents. if i put it on defrost then it works fine. but when i switch to vent, it doesn't go to the vents. it still goes to the defrost vents but it sounds a bit different. if i leave it like that for a while then it goes into the vents like i want it. any clues anyone?

Mine did that, too.

I just took it out and re-soldered the faulty joints. I may replace it with a spare '94 unit I have kicking around if it messes up again.
