But I live 5 miles away.

Idiot didnt put a reserve. I suspect he is either trying to make some money off of shipping, or just shaft me. I had emailed him the moment (withen the hour) I won that I would pick up. He seems to ignored this email.

I emailed him again stating I would pick up. We will see what happens. Worst case scenario, I will send "my" shipping company to pick up!

I hate it when someone shafts themselves, and gets pissed at me. Has happened a few times on ebay, like the time I won a legacy for $250 on Christmas eve! Bastard reneged! Even Ebay agreed he screwed me!

I'm assuming it's this auction?

I hope this works out for you... Unfortunately, the description doesn't say whether or not local pickup is available, and the shipping costs were given before the end of the auction. The description does also say "all you do is pay shipping." I don't know eBay's policies well enough to know for sure, but it does kind of sound like he may be within his rights to require the rims to be shipped.

Read the payment instructions, though -- another one of the terms of the auctions states that he will provide a receipt of the actual shipping cost and give you a refund of the balance between what the shipping calculator specifies and what it actually cost. That doesn't sound like he's trying to shaft you... unless he plans on using "brian3676 Shipping Co."

Apparently he's backed out on at least one sale in the past.

That's rediculous!

I guess that's the risk he takes using ebay

Yay!

Well, he said in the listing that he had no use for them... He probably just wanted to make sure they didn't go to waste.
