are 4 ver8 usdm sti injectors. something like 550cc's at 3 bars.

in another window is the tracking info for a perfect power due here on monday.

in a drawer about 5 feet in front of me is a plug and play harness i made from a few spare legacys in a junkyard

on a shelf about 35 feet behind me is a gss341 and a bag full of NA rails.

am i missing anything other than an install kit for the pump?

JECS Maf sensor is about the only thing I can think of, since those injectors will definitely max out the amount of air you're taking in.

What turbo are you currently running?

what do you mean max out the amount of air im taking in?

i have a 16g

You'll max out the MAF. It'll hit the 5-volt rail, and unless you decide to reschedule the whole fuel:air-flow ratio across the entire Rev range AND load range, you need a MAF that already reads a higher voltage. You'd need 3D mapping ability, and a lot of free time on the dyno and a lot of knowledge of the subject to do it.

I'm sure the Perfect Power will allow you to supply fuel and scale injectors in a way to work around the MAF.

Personally, I'd rather convert to Speed Density, rather than MAF based fueling, but I don't know where I'd even start to accomplish that.

Where did you order the Perfect Power from? I keep forgetting to shoot -K- a PM about it. I need to know exactly what it can do, how it can do it, the interface, and it's limits.

got it form rallitek. sean is the man. they messed up the shipping so he threw in a fcd.

as for maxing out the maf. i know i will but that doesnt matter. because if i do max out the maf that means i have big injectors going 100% idc and that means im probaly going pretty fast. and at that point ill take them out and make them bigger. it doesnt work around the maf it works with it.

as for what it can do, so far as i can tell it can do just about everything. the new one is even better. it has a built in avcr. from what ive been told...its like utec but cheaper and with a windows based interface. ill post all about it when i start tuning in a few weeks.

crap. i know what i forgot. 3bar map sensor. got to go to the delearship monday.

Just so you know, roughly 11psi on the 16g maxes out the MAF. And at 11psi, your not going that fast. Barely low 15's, and throwing so much fuel at so little air, you'll run so rich you'll likely LOSE power.

it seems your missing the point. with the maf railed at 5 volts or whatever it is i can start scaling back the signal and adding boost at the same time. this will even out the mixture. but if i add so much boost and tune it to that boost and end up back at 5 volts then ill probaly be going quite fast.

from talking to sean on the phone the pp reads the load from the map sensor. then from there you can scale back the signal from 5 to say 3.1 at a given load point detirmined from the map asuming that 3.1 gives a idc that puts enough fuel in to not run teribily lean. if i remember correctly he said that .01 volt change is a big change in idc.

emanage does the same thing and nico already has that em covered. not that you can really understand anything he says but it seems to be working for him.

this is how i understand it. ^^^^^^^

ill post up results as i get them, as im probaly near to the top 5 people to do meaningfull tuning on this car with this em and fuel system in north america and the info will be helpful to all. that and i still want to try the legacU when its done.

The SAFC scales back the MAF signal to tune fuel also. It works, but it also DOES bugger up the Load readings.

Personally, I'm gonna do more research and make my EMS decision when I've settled on the best solution. I STILL do not like the idea of a piggy-back, but I don't have the resources to tune a full standalone. I might just call up Rallitek and get all of my questions answered from the source.

which is why the 3 bar map and the fcd. it will get the load readings stright from the map so its getting the whole picture and then the fcd will take care of the signal not getting to the ecu.

link and autronic are good standalone solutions, i also talked to kelly about standalone but i have an auto so that mucks that up.

i wasnt a big fan of piggy back either but this will get me where i want to be with the car so thats good enough

The only piggy back I've ever liked is the UTEC, and unless the PP has the versatility of the UTEC, I might have to pass. My goals are a little to lofty to trust an SAFC to control.

I may go autronic, but IIRC they don't have knock sensor control.

Is there a thread that covers the complete progression of these ideas to this point?

I've talked to Sean about the PP, and from talking with him, the PP is very comparable with the utec, maybe a little better.

I'm going to be up in Portland again in the next couple weeks, so I'm going to stop by the shop and try to get a little more info on the PP setup.

Phil, BTW the PP7 is capable of converting MAF based to MAP based. From what sean said, you just plug it up, drive around, and it does what it needs to do.

Really? That would be awesome if it could do it correctly (so that the MAF could be removed entirely)

I WAS going to get the PP fairly soon. Instead it looks like I will be installing the turbo block this weekend. And since I won't be able to blow this motor up due to detonation at 7 psi, I will be putting off getting the PP for awhile until I get the boost up over 12.

well it looks like my plug and play project just went to hell.

i did just have it crimped together when sean told me to soder to be sure. well after a few hours and only 5 wires done, i think im just gonna have it installed. if anyone wants a pnp kit it will be for sale soon.

still need a fuel pump install kit and map sensor.

Just get the GSS341 wrx install kit. It will work perfect.

That's what he mentioned when I talked with him. I'd definitely recommend talking with him to confirm it though.

Are you going to be selling any of it?

maybe, depends on how steep this ticket ends up being.

Are you saying that Perfect Power will soon have a plug and play cable that plugs into the TurboLeg ECU and harness?

well mine will, if i keep it. i made it out of a spool of wire and 2 legacys in a junkyard. if you want they cost pnp harness cost 300 from rallitek and 200 sumpthin from perfection motorsports
