how many imputs does the maf give the ecu that the ecu....?

how many imputs does the maf give the ecu that the ecu will actualy use to control the performance of the engine other than the measure of air flow that must be present for the engine to run.
if that doesnt make sense, heres what im thinking. the maf measures air flow in the form of 0-5 volts getting railled at somewhere around 12 psi on a 16g. with a piggy back and larger injectors you essientialy move the volt values down until the car runs properly in an open loop situation. so couldnt you give a piggy back which is already going to be altering the voltage from the maf the voltage from a map as the maf signal replacing the maf. or are there more imputs that the maf gives the ecu that i dont know about?
also this system would only work under a few conditions, one is that the map can read vaccum, the other being taht it would only work if the values that the map provides are at a equal or greater value when compared to the stock values but less than only if its still greater than a tuned value with the larger injectors.
am i missing something or is this entirely possible with a 0-5 volt 2 or 3 bar map sensor.
