ok, I am about to go ape poop on my car! it has been hell trying to track down my gremlins,(2 months of hunting) and now I/we are thinking it is the ecu. And wouldn't you know it is the only turbo only part we don't have in the yard. so now i get to just wait till someone out there wrecks a turbo. I don't have the 700 bucks for a new one. we came to the ECU conclution after we found a few grounds that were almost broken/ and sometimes not getting any connection, we fixed that and now there is a check engine light, giving me different codes everyday, 12,22,32,42,51, but usualy never the same ones 2 times in a row. i will say after fixing the wires i drove it for about 10 minutes with no check engine light and my god it was strong. but now i am getting like 12-15mpg and missing power.

well no real questions, just had to rant
(mumbeling undervoice) friggin car....

yep 150 bucks nice.
now i am gunna still do a ecu swap with my bosses wifes turbo before i shell out my cash. If that don't work i am gunna re-wire the whole damn car. There is no way i can go obd2 is there?

just be warned if a short in your harness fried your ECU and left it in the state that it's in now, then putting a good ECU in there can also fry it in the same situation.

So you'd be buying two ECU's then.

I've got a 91' turbo ECU in Tacoma available if you end up wanting to purchase one.
