Back to parts

I actually started back in parts Monday, but I've been so slammed with other crap going on that I haven't really been online to post.

So yeah, I told my manager: Get me out of this shuttle van. I'm going nuts driving in circles. I wanna come back to parts.

Knowing that I am the best parts guy he's got, and that any dumb-ass can drive a van in circles all day, he began making the necessary arrangements for my triumphant return to parts. It finally worked out on Monday, and I went back to doing the stock order.

I've never seen the parts department such a mess. Everything is all screwed up. People are putting parts wherever the hell they feel like it with no concern for numerical sequence. Since we have about 7 guys in a position where we used to have 3, I've been assigned to look over one section, which is upstairs in the main parts building (headlights, rad supports, floor mats, accessories, etc.) I've been cleaning that section up bit by bit, putting everything back in order and making it look neater. But I could find a whole lot to do throughout the parts department.

Anyway, my manager wanted me to come in a half-hour earlier (in fact, he'd prefer I work days, but I have school), so that, and the fact that I'm once again eligible for monthly bonuses and can now make requests for raises again, has me edging a little ahead moneywise. I made an extra $20 this week :D

So yeah, no more lazy-ass shuttle-driver subyluvr!

Congrats. Do you work at a dealership or parts warehouse?

I work at Toyota of Orlando.

When I started, I felt like a traitor, being a Subaru dork while working at a Toyota dealership. But with the new Toyota-Subaru partnership, I don't feel so bad :)

Nice, Toyota is cool. I used to have a 99 camry.

BTW is your parts manager Jimmy Weederman?

Sure is, but you butchered his last name :) It's Wiedeman actually. You know him?

OEConnection. We mainly sell an online parts locator but we have other services, like Collisonlink, to which you guys are subscribed to. It's like order management process for the body shop I believe.

Interesting. You mean like used body parts?

Usually OE replacements and some aftermarket.

Hmm. Coz we usually raid our own parts department for body parts.

I'm just a stock guy though, I dunno much about what goes on behind the scenes... :???:
