Can't find ECU in my 1990 legacy

Hello, I'm in the process of dismantling a 1990 automatic legacy (in upstate NY if anyone needs a part.) before sending it to the crusher. I am having a hell of a time finding the ECU. I have removed the carpet on the passenger side, and it does not look at all like it does in the Haynes manual I am using. I can trace the engine harness through the firewall, it goes toward the p/s fender, and just splits off into several connectors. There is one small silver box that says "cruise control unit on it, and that is all.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Driver's side, thanks for the fast response. p.s. I'm now feeling a bit stupid.

The ecu is on the driver's side. I bet legacy777 has some pictures of the exact location. It's near the left under the dash.

Yeah it's like a goldish, silver metal box, right under the panel with the thing marked tray, take that off, and look under it, you should see a bunch of wires and stuff and the ecu

Yeah, you shouldn't feel bad for following bad instructions in a haynes manual. I mean it's not your fault they half-assed something.
