My car has this light. In fact, all 4EAT equipped cars do. At least, I think they do.

(sigh) I wonder why mine doesn't. Bulb probably burnt out. I suppose I have to rip the dash apart to replace one little bulb:(

I've never seen my go on...ever. I can't even remember if it goes on at start.

1st-gens have them?
I thought on our cars the POWER light served to indicate all transmission faults, including overheating.

The owner's manual says it has one...but yeah, I've never seen it.

IIRC mine lights up before I start the car. It's a yellow light.

why would you have to rip the dash apart? Is it really that extensive on 1st gens?

I believe to rip the cluster out to replace the bulb theres alot to take off. Anyone with 2nd gens could chime if they have the light or not...it says in the manual it does:(

It's on the '91 Cluster; I checked today. It's in the right section of lights, in the upper left.

So I guess the 2nd gen wasn't blessed with this, I guess it is as vrg3 says and it is displayed via the power light. I had a 91 legacy and there was no at temp light...it was only FWD tho...maybe that has something to do with it?

Yeah, I think only the AWD 4EAT equipped cars have the AT Oil Temp light. I know I've got it, but never really noticed it before my car stalled on me the other night
