So I lost my patience with Patti (gee, when does that happen? :rolleyes: ) and tore the fuel hose going into the filter...

Let me tell you, for something very minor, I've never had to work at something so hard. Because the line ends right between the master cylinder and the strut tower, and is under the fuel return line and, it's a total BITCH to get to. The hose coming out of the filter is no problem, coz the line going under the intake manifold sticks right out. But not this one.

I tried to put a new hose on it today and gave up after an hour... I'm just going to take the master cylinder out and the fuel return line so I can get to it...

I reoplaced the lines/filter on my 93 bc so I can understrand where you are coming from. I don't recall having to remove the MC but I do remeber I messed my hands up doing it.

I replaced that hose as well because the one before was butchered up at the filter.

It's a bitch to replace, but you don't need to remove the MC.

Are you having a problem getting the old one off? Or putting the new one on?

If it's getting it off, just cut the hose. If it's putting it on, lube up the line and slide the hose on.

Putting the new one on. I had no mercy taking the old one off, I just kept pulling on it until it finally came off.

I got new OEM hoses, which I guess are a little tighter when they're new, so that's why it's so reluctant to go on.

I lubed the line up with motor oil, and each time I tried it, I got so close to getting the line over the lip, but not quite.

I'll try it a few more times today before I go and start doing anything drastic...

Try a heat gun on it 1st. (Not near the vapor rich fuel filter, obviously). Or put in really hot water briefly then try sliding it on.

Along those lines tonflo, I stuck a pair of needlenose pliers in the end of the hose I was trying to get on the line, and then pulled them apart to stretch out the hose.

And... it worked! I barely managed to get the hose over the lip of the line, and it stayed. I then breathed a huge sigh of relief. I didn't have to remove the brake MC or anything...

I usually recommend replacing the OEM fuel injection hoses with 5/16" injection line from the auto parts store. It fits safely snugly but much more easily than the OEM hoses do.
