My wagon misses under load, i have had new sparkies put in, new fuel filter, the coil packs have been checked about 3 times to find that there is nothing wrong, my mate seems to think it is the fuel pump,

The car can misses, when i am idling and i have the Aircon on , or i can be in 2nd going up a hill just under 2 grand, then misses,

THe latest thing to happen, i was giving it a rn down some back streets winding it up, in 2nd hit about 6500rpm (The car missed on the way up to 6500rpm), then boom tacho hit 0, i was in the iddle of shifting to third, then let the clutch out and it was up and running again, of course still with the same problem, (it was like she stalled but it didn't feel like it did)

Any ideas/info/help on this would be off da hook, as i am nearly at my wits end and ready to sell it....

Cheers

Check for vacumn leaks and ANYWHERE air could be entering the intake POST MAF. Check all the crankcase breathers and such.

I just fixed a similar problem due to this.

Yeah I would give the engine starting fluid stuff a shot. That should help in identifying leaks.

When you put new plugs in, what did the old ones look like?

no idea???? i had just taken it to the mechanic for a cambelt & full service, he didn't mention anything about whether they were knackered... this all started happeniong however after he did the job, taken it back to himn on numerous occasions, he still could never fix it, and he did things like replace the fuel filter, i replacerd the airflow meter, apparently another big problem with these things, my mate said to get the fuel pump replaced, or even take it to an auto sparky to get the coils properly tested for something arather...
