I guess I was just bored on Sunday, so I started to mod my bike. I bought a '05 Ninja EX250 last Sept.(Yes, a 250-wanna make somethin' of it?!?)

. I trailered it to my local dealer to have it winterized before I parked it, and unfortunately it tipped over on the trailer on my way there.

The fall put a baseball sized puncture/crack in the upper fairing with no other damage. So I get this idea to cut up the fairing to make it kinda streetfighter/cafe style. I don't like the overall look now that I did it, I think it looks like a BMW. I think I may ditch the whole upper fairing/headlight/guages and fit a smaller headlight (or 2) in it's place. Check it out and let me know what you think.

I also cut the plastic rear fender off where it hangs below the tail section of the bike (fender eliminator mod) and am intrigating the turn signals into the taillight housing. I guess I can't leave anything stock.

Also notice that my bike is "parked" in my bedroom.

looks kinda wierd, I agree with your idea on the small lights. now buy some crashed on seat plastics and hack those up to match, or even adapt a more swoopy rear section on. how do you like the ninja?
my bike is getting a bunch of mods too, getting rid of a lot of the 80's bolt on chopper garbage and thrashed stock stuff. the bike looks kinda street tracker, kinda cafe. been a great learning experience. yeah its an old junker but xs650's are seriously cool and I'll have very good fun:dollar ratio.

The main reason I bought the bike in the first place was this is the only way I could afford one. I didn't want an older bike (unless it's really old) and I didn't want to make bigger payments than I'm making on this one ($49/MO). I just wanted something to cruise around on and have some fun, and I didn't need anything big to do that. I sure do miss my buddy's Ducatti 750SS though. The only thing I don't like is how small it is, physically. I'd like to get something a little bigger in that respect. A couple years ago I bought an '89 Ninja 1200 becuase another buddy of mine needed the cash, and I knew I could make a profit on it by re-selling it. However, before I could re-sell it, it got stolen and and I made my profit from the insurance company, instead. Still worked out OK.

Kinda reminds me of a Ducati Monster or the like. Not bad. I guess I'm not really a bike guy because I know I'd kill myself.

I think it looks good but it's missing something. I'm not sure what but something. It does look better than the standard Ninja though. Though, like Dan, I'm not really a bike guy, for the same reason.

Update: Added more pics!
I bought some $20 driving lights after work tonight and did some mockup shots. I figured I could wire 'em up so one is on for low beam and both on for high beam. The only downside is I'll have to hack up the factory headlight wiring.

You're tearing apart your fairly new bike already?
