Was on my way home tonight when all of a sudden after a few good pulls my dash, radio, and AC lights just turned off. Im thinking it is just a fuse. Anyone ever had this happen to them before? Also is that fuse incorporated into the dash box, or engine box?

I had the same problem once before. Turned out one of thw wires for the radio freyed and was grounding out. But only when I hit a bump would it fry the fuse. It took days to find what was doing this.

It might be cheap insurance to replace al your fuses and see where that gets you.

the gauge cluster, and the heater controls and maybe the radio are hooked to a little box called the illumination control module, i think thats the appropriate name for it. this just went bad in my new car, its fairly easy to replace, on my car i had to take the glove box out and get at it from the side since its right inbetween the radio slot in the dash and the glovebox area. check your fuses first though, as mine was blown too and i replaced it and they still didnt work, thats when i came across the illumination control module. good luck

i just pulled it from a parts car i have in the back of the shop. it would be cheaper just to pull one at a junkyard.... i think on some of the cars the illumination control might be behind the radio, so you'll have to take the radio out.... i thought my new car was like this then i discovered that at least on my 1991 turbo its inbetween the radio bracket and the glove box area.
