OK, went and did some 0 and -1 map tests.

0 map problem came back.

Switched back to -1 map. Problem remained. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

OK, What the fuck?!?!!?!?

Pulled over, and while engine is running, modified the socket where the red square sat so that the ECU and SMT6 both actively dealt with the live tune. Switched it to -6, then to 3 then back to -1. The idle of course changed each time.

Back on the road.

Bucking problem gone again!!!!!!

S0...............

Try "live" tuning the active spot at idle. Then give it a drive.

dont know doug all of mine are "live tuning" half the time I stick my finger on the coresponding f-key for fuel or timing and drive as steady as possible to adjust. THen I pull over and smooth things out.

if you guys put in the bypass plug for the SMT6 your hesitation goes away all the time?

I've got issues with oil getting on my MAF right now. the thing will run like shit until it clears up. Maybe you have something similar on a smaller scale?

I doubt that's the issue. All three of us have some sort of hesitation/stumble. I cleaned the entire maf with brake cleaner (completely removed all the parts) before I put the motor in, and I run a paper filter. So the chances of oil being on my MAF is pretty slim.

Its not the MAF for Josh or myself, and most likely Tyler. When we install the bypass, or remove the SMT6, the stumble goes away.

ok here is a bit of info.

my friends RS-t (2.5dohc {with sohc pistons} into a 94 impreza with 1.8 ecu and turboed) does something very similar with his stock injectors. We put my 440 injectors in and it ran great , 7mpg but it ran great. and he doesnt have a perfect power (scary wit hthe whole stock timing thing!!!)

I just got my 550's so I am going to see what happens.

Ok....I just got MASSIVE bucking this morning!!! Very same as what happened the one time I was data logging.

I didn't drive very far, but it happened in second gear mostly if I gave the car any appreciable amount of throttle.

I do NOT have the perfect power installed, just have the bypass installed. However I have the MAF wire not running through the PP bypass. They are twisted together and held together with a wire nut. The only other thing is I have the zeitronix harness hooked up to the jumper harness I got from Vikash, but it's not even hooked up to the Zeitronix computer.

So I don't know what the hell is going on.

Drove the car this afternoon to an appointment I had, and didn't get any major bucking. I did still notice some minor hesitation/stumbling.

The only thing I can think of is the wiring connector plug I am using has issues, or that I am getting interference somewhere in the wiring.

josh I have that same stumbling issue I bet. Is it at a cruise w/low deflection? probalby anywhere between 2000 and 3200 Rpm? that is where mine is. Then if I open the throttle more than 50% it bucks hard, then if I left off the throttle and coast it bucks. I am going to see dzx right now maybe I can give him a ride and someone else can experience it to see I am not just a biitter nut.

my car has bin doing that all its life, its like there is a miss fire or something. it even does it when you drive at 2000 3200 rpms. you got to play with the tps and that idelspeed sensor and the screw if you got it. i can make it go away but i dont like the way it feels when driving it.

I haven't had any more massive bucking since I posted earlier. The only thing I can think of is there's some issues with the "plug & play" wiring harness/adapter I'm using, or some other odd issue.

I got the wideband installed last night. I need to go do some runs with the perfect power hooked back up.

ITs back. Sometimes.....

I never really thought about it, but I have NEVER changed my .028 gapped spark plugs since BEFORE I installed the SMT6. Changing them out tommorrow.

Yeah, I want to pull the plugs and take a look at them too.

Plugs didnt do squat.

I am going to rewire the sucker so that the ignition wires that are intercepted (1&2 and 3&4) match up with the IGN1 and IGN2 of the perfect power.

The instructions many people have have gotten (including myself) had them backwards.

Well, worth a shot.......

OK, rewired, lets see what happens.......

No go.

All I can say is it wasn't worse.........

Fuck.

Even I, the man who won't stop with a stupid idea, is getting frustrated.....

now you see why I was so pissed doug....

this sucks. an I have been dealing with it the longest.

So tonight my 550 injectors are going in we will see what that does.

doug, you should have left the first post up so people could reference it somewhat. it was a good idea, the execution however was lacking in follow through. (and not your fault)

I plugged my PP back in today, took it for a decent drive, and didn't have any problems. I still have the analog deflection bypassed from the PP, and just the ignition hooked up.

The only difference I did notice was that I was getting more frequent back fires.

What ever issue the SMT6 has either with our cars or in general seems intermittant.

There is a point where this thing is coming out, and I will be looking for an alternative EM solution, because I refuse to deal with an intermittant working product.
