Boostin?! If your clutch is slipping and you have no cash, stop boosting!
In fact, what I would suggest is that you fashion some sort of restrictor to greatly reduce your engine's performance. Maybe cover up most of the air filter (the dirty side!) with duct tape.
You can't tighten your clutch, unfortunately.

now to the q's i have.....
1)what version wrx and sti clutches would fit my 89 rs with little or no modification.
2)is there much diference between the wrx clutch and a legacy clutch?

Little turn down? Turn it down all the way. Really. That's the least you can do.
Sickpack Subaru can probably answer your questions better than I can, but:
I'm pretty sure the early WRX clutch is the same as the early Legacy RS clutch. At some point along the line (at the bugeye model, maybe), Subaru changed to a slightly larger clutch and flywheel.
I believe you can use any clutch from a 5-speed turbo EJ-engined Subaru as long as you use the corresponding flywheel. Before a certain year, that flywheel was the same as your stock one.
I don't think clutches for 6-speeds will fit, since they're even bigger.

You should be able to just buy a clutch disk as the pressure plate is probably fine.
