Knock sensor problem

Greetings to all. I have a question and I hope someone can help me. I have a 96 JDM Model Legacy RSD with the EJ20R motor. I am getting a sporatic CEL and when I pull the codes from it, I get a 22 and 31. I've changed the TPS for the throttle code 31, but the light still came back. I'm interested in changing out the knock sensor but have been unsuccessful in locating it on my twin turbo motor. Does anyone know the location of it? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Dave :-D

Well, we never got the Twin Turbo Legacy here in the states, but I imagine the Knock Sensor is located basically in the center of the motor, under the throttle body. Its round and black with a bolt through the middle of it.

Since you are having a hard time locating the knock sensor, I recommend that you ship that thing over here to the states and donate it to me, just consider it a lost cause there, you can just go get another RHD TT there that doesn't have a bad knock sensor.
thanks ahead of time.

I'd be more than willing to send that car, or it's engine back to the states when I return there in August......for the right price. I drive it on a daily basis and let me tell ya, when the enigne's screaming at 6000 rpms and both turbo's are blowin....it's just amazing. 5th gear feels like 3rd gear. Too bad the JDM model cars only have speedo's up to 180 KPH, cause the needle went way past that the other night during a shake-down cruise through a rice field backroad. My wife wants me to take it back to the states, but the car isn't even on the NHTSA import list. Kinda funny considering that there's a butt-load of Legacy's cruisin around town.

I'll post pictures of it later....Peace!

Only RHD car I've seen here was actually yesterday on the way back from my friend's Orlando Jeep Club trailride; it was a late '90's Civic hatchback, with vanity plates "RHD SIR", and it definately caused a double-take. Not because of the car, but because there was nobody on the left-hand side of the car...

I'm sure that'd take some getting used to, but for a twin-turbo Legacy I think it'd be worth it. :-D
