Heat.

Its pretty much glued in there with butyl.

Heat the peremater from the inside with a hair dryer, and you'll loosen it up a bit.

Pull.

If the adhesive's still gooey and clean, then it'll stick itself back together when you push the taillamp back in.

If it's not, just use some windshield-setting tape or caulk.

I am going to be doing this soon. What kind of caulk should i use? Or better yet, is there a product name for windshield tape?

Its called butyl tape. If you go to a windshield replacement center, a smaller company perferably, they may even give it to you for free :D

I've yanked my taillight twice and just reuse the old stuff. They really put it on, and it hasn't leaked since I've reused it.

Just press it on really tight, that stuff sticks.

If you do need some fresh stuff, 3M Windoweld is what I used. Comes as a roll in a box. I got it from my local Advance Auto Parts store.
