Pulling the engine

Ok, so I need some advice. When I pulled the tranny in my brother's car, we left the engine in and it was all good, so I fugred when I'm pulling both, maybe I want to pull the tranny first.
I've been told recently that I should pull the engine first, and put it in last. Also, talking to Thawa, he was saying I should just pull them together, although I'm not sure I have the room in my garage for that.
Any suggestions?

if you dont need to seperate them then pull them together... if you need to replace the engine id just pull the engine... if you need to do a clutch or flywheel or put in a new tranny i would just pull the tranny. Pulling them together is not that bad of a job but it def helps to have two people and the radiator pulled for a little more room to work with.

haha
well if your not replacing the tranny i would just leave it in there but if everything is coming out and new everything is going in just pull it as a whole it should save you some time since breaking the tranny and engine can be a bitch sometimes

Drop it instead of pulling it! If the whole assembly is coming out, use the cherry picker to lift up the front of the chassis and a floor jack to lower the engine and tranny, with both crossmembers attached, onto a dolley...
