Trying to figure out WTF is making the car run so oddly, but I cant clear the ECU
Ive left it unhooked from the battery for 10+ hours, done the green + black connectors thing in the library
Could someone post an exact step-by-step of how to clear them? This is what Ive been doing:
1. Warm up the engine
2. Turn off car
3. Connect black + green test connectors
4. Turn ignition on
5. Push gas down all the way, half way for 2 secs, release.
6. Start car
7. Turn off car
Codes are still there next time I check with the black connectors. I dont usually have a CEL.

You're missing something after step 6 -- reread Josh's article in the library. It includes the step-by-step instructions.

You actually have to drive around to clear the codes??
Thats stupid.

Pulling the battery cable and hitting the brake worked for me and Jared at a highway rest stop. This was on a code that the Select Monitor was not clearing.
Otherwise we would never have been able to keep up with that BMW (The one bouncing off of his rev limiter

).

Tried that
Held the brake pedal down for ages.
My ECU just loves holding onto its codes.

Well, the idea is that you have to give the ECU a chance to make sure the problem's actually gone before it removes the code.

That whole aspect of the ECU, codes, clearing them, etc., is untouchable for my 91SS. My CEL has been on since I've had the car. The codes it shows are for the knock sensor and the solenoid gizmo under the passenger intake manifold. Changed both of them out, real fun jobs, and still have the codes. Can't even start the car with the green and black hooked up, just hear a solenoid on the passenger strut tower cycling. Not the optimal situation to have the CEL on, but you may just have to get used to having that red glow in your dash.

So I tried driving around with both connectors on, and the car died every time I hit the gas

Bad pressure sensor?

Could be. If only you could use my scantool. Maybe you could check the pressure sensor with a voltmeter?
