'90 Sedan fold-down seats

Post by Diogenes »

My rear seats don't fold down. I want to install an amplifier. Would someone tell me if there is an aftermarket way to make that bench open to the trunk?
thanks

The L seats never folded down in the sedans. The LS, LSi, and Turbo models had fold down seats.

I dunno if they will interchange, because the fold down seats have to have something to latch onto when they're up. I don't think the L's have such a way for that to happen.

dont know where you would find them outside of a slavage yard or on line. there are some people parting out SSs in the classifieds, maybe one of them is near you.

i am sure you could swap the whoe rear seat in. since subaru uses the same shells for all the legacies i bet the bolt holes are there for the fold down rear seat assemblies to bolt into.

I scored a fold down rear seat from a '90 LS in a bone yard. I grabbed the seatbottom and top, trim pieces and all hardware and latches. The whole mess bolts right in.

Yeah mine too. Maybe it's just pre-facelift or something?

Fold down seats add weight though. I had them out for awhile and that folding back part is heavy. So I drove around without back seats and felt cool. Then the ladies objected so I had to put them back in.
