here they are holding free emission testing to see how well your car would do. i thought i was going to fail since i have no cats what so ever.
for a 1988-1995 1.8L-2.6L car
hydrocarbons, 110 is a fail
carbon monoxide, .85 is a fail
my car 92 2.2L turbo with the coffee cup mod, 2.5" exaust and no cats at all got
hydrocarbons, 18
carbon monoxide, .30
passed both with flying colours

Sounds like my 93 with a JC Sports intake, DIS-2, custom DP, no cats and Dynomax. Passed 2-3 years on the sniffer.

Yeah....I'd really be curious if mine would pass without the cat. Probably would.

Were those readings from an idle test or high idle test (since they can't put us on the dyno

)
That's odd. I'm looking at my emissions test that was done 4/28/2006
For the idle test (rpm: 699)
HC: 63 PPM
CO: .10 %
For high speed idle test (rpm: 2601)
HC: 26 PPM
CO: .38 %
So I'm running dirtier then you on HC....with a cat
Another thing to note, the limits for my vintage vehicle are 220 PPM for HC and 1.20 % for CO.
A lot higher limits then WA. Even though Houston is smog filled...haha.
