Here's the catch on the eibach springs that SPD has. About two years ago,
maybe a little less I was workin with him on trying to get springs for my
legacy. The BIG problem was that my car was FWD, and supposedly the springs
on the AWD cars are different in the rear because of the rear diff and added
weight. But as far as I remember, he could get them for a 90 that was AWD,
I could've gotten the springs but I don't want something that's going to
produce bad handling characteristics.

I think that is one of the best things I like about Mike at SPD, he WILL NOT
sell you something that won't fit or may give you bad results.

I have heard the rears are diffrent between the 90-91 & the 92-94's. I also
think that SPD does not have an Eibach spring for the 90 leg wagon. So you
may be right.

I did this on my '90 legacy LS AWD sedan. they (the springs) will fit on the
front, the struts will bolt in too. I believe the rears are different tho.

Here is the communication I had with Mike at SPD. My impression is he is
saying to get OEM springs. This why I thought the idea of 91 Leg Turbo sedan
springs sounded good. Provided they will fit on a 90 Leg Wagon with auto.
What is your impression??

It is the rear spring shape and rear spring upper mount that are different.
You need to stick with the OEM parts and perhaps some sport setting shocks
that we can provide. Get all the hardware. No clue on what a price will be.
Expect $400?

expect to pay for these?? What about new??

Is there also an option to purchase an adaptor?? Would this let me put your
Eibach springs on?? I would prefer to have something like the LegGT springs
if I could do this at a reasonable price, and effort. What type of spring is
it that you can get?? Would I be better off just buying new/used OEM springs
for a 90 model??

there a better way to improve performance?

The early cars have a different rear top mount that you will need to
purchase along with a different spring that we can get. There is no clear
way out for you on this one. There are no after market springs for the 90
model at this time.

We suggest that you get used 90-91 from salvage to get all the bits and
springs. If you need shocks then we can provide them. It is the springs and
hard ware that would cost you new.

They will fit, or should fit. The only thing you may have to do is get a
new pillow ball mount for the rears. I don't see why they wouldn't fit
other than that....I may be wrong but....As long as the initial compression
under the car's load is around the same, i.e. same weight it should be fine,
the spring rate will probably be stiffer since they're more performance
oriented, but that shouldn't cause any problems...
