Sti Front and Rear Swaybars fit?

Hey again guys,

Do stock STi front and rear sway bars fit on a 91' legacy turbo? I have heard that the rear sway requires a little modding to the spare tire area. I have also heard that the front sway is a direct bolt on. Does anybody know for sure? I think Kelly is using this setup.

Thanks,
-Devan

Is there anybody out there that knows? I would really like to find out by this week.

Thanks,

The front will probably be a tad wider, but can probably be made to work.

The rear....I don't know.

I doubt the rear will fit without modification. As for the front I dont know, have you tried searching?

As far as I know they don't. Hardy (THAWA) has various STi suspension parts, as has psyber_0ptix on nasioc. You should try a search on nasioc and include their names.

I replied to your PM Devan.
Now that I think about it, I think there both the same size, only a bit wider and will rub your tires if your running a 225 in the rear. Its kinda been a while since I actually got under my car. :(

I think I remember a guy installing a wrx rear bar and it was super close to the tires, aside from that he had to cut that bump off the bottom of the spare tire holder. I'm going to work on making sway bar mounts to enable the use of wrx/ipreza bars without modification

Reserrecting this...What about the FRONT swaybar? Will the STI bar fit?

The reason I'm asking is that Teagues sells a monster 27mm adjustable Whiteline "Racing" front sway bar for STI's...thinking it might be nice to get...

Does anyone know if a WRX front sway bar fits a 94 Legacy? I am trying to find an adjustable 24mm sway bar, but it seems like no one makes them any bigger than 22 for an older Legacy like mine.

You can use a WRX/STi front bar if you use the WRX/STi front control arms.

Not only is the front track wider on the WRX/STi, but the front swaybar mounts differently than ours does.

Oh, and if you use WRX/STi front control arms, you have to change the front bushing. The WRX/STi bushing won't fit in our crossmember.

I thought all the control arms were the same? When I replaced my broken one with one from a junkyard they gave me a control arm from a 97 legacy and it fit fine.

A 97 Legacy one will fit. The part number for ALL 1st and 2nd gen Legacies, 90-99, are all the same.

But the newer cars are different.
