i was at a nor cal subaru dealer today and noticed a wrx that had a guage cluster installed in the center of the dash, it has a boosty guage, an oil temp, and a voltage guage...it is avail from the dealer (part #h0017fc910oe)...
what i need to know is if i could adapt one of these to my 94 legacy? im not afraid to modify my dash a little...but what all is involved with the install....the guys in the parts and service dept. where complete morons so they where no help.
any ideas?

Imprezas (including WRX) and Foresters have a little cubby with a hinged lid on top of the dash over the center console. The OEM accessory gauge clusters mount in place of the hinged lid. You might be able to adapt one, but it will basically have to sit on top of your dash unless you want to cut into it. Check subaru parts dealers online and find their listings of OEM accessories, there should be gauge cluster kits there.

The guys in the parts department are not there to tell you if or how you can retrofit parts.

I know what it will take to retrofit the guages, and i am not afraid to cut the dash, i have 2. but what i want to know is if anyone has done it before, what it looks like, and what was involved in the install as far as how deep to cut the dash
also, does any one have one 4 sale

You would be the pioneer on this one.
I can post pics of the try in an impreza so you can see how big it would be.
As for the parts: try rs25.com or NASIOC

H0017FC910OE is only the housing (Gray for Impreza 98-01).
H5010FE040 is the gauge pack itself (boost, oil temp, volts).
