I just picked up a spare legacy with a bad TPS. You hit the gas, and the car goes nowhere. Maybe if you're lucky and play with the throttle enough, the car will move 3 feet.

Now this may be a dumb question, but can I fix the sensor on the car, or do I need a new one? I haven't really looked at it, but are there traces that could be cleaned up or something that may need to be resoldiered? Just curious if I could fix it myself.

The 90-94 Legacies have a 4-wire TPS, vs the newer 3-wire TPS.

I am going to make the assumption you picked up a first gen legacy.

The only adjustment is to set the idle switch, but if that were bad, that shouldn't really cause the problem you are seeing. I'd recommend just getting another one, and adjusting the new one via this information
