i have a 92 2wd sedan that came without a sway bar.i also have a 92 awd sedan parts car.i've already swapped the sway bar(i welded angle iron mount to rear lat links). my question is : will the strut assem from my awd directly bolt to my 2wd? are the springs in an awd stiffer to accomidate the diff/axle weight? my 2wd is sagging in the rear and i would like to bring it back up. a tighter spring rate would be an added bonus. any insight would be appreciated. thanks in advance----speedoboy31

The springs will, but the struts won't.

Most springs lower the car as well as having a stiffer spring rate, so you've got few options there. If you want a little more stiffness, just put KYB GR2's on it, I think the consensus here is that they're 15% stiffer than stock struts.

NO, I'M NOT CONVERTING!!!! the reason i want just a tad more than stock is that i haul my speaker box always, and sometimes a small utility trailer.my goal is to retain stock height(or a little more)and maybe stiffen a little as a bonus. any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

With a FWD legacy, you HAVE to use FWD rear struts. There is a difference between FWD and AWD struts. If your current struts are bad, I'd say just go with some new gr2's from tirerack.com You'll get rid of the sag you have now, and it will be stiffer.

thanks for the advise. i'll check into the gr2's. would the rear springs from an awd fit? would i get any additional load capability? or am i peeing in the wind?

The springs will fit, but you most likely will not notice any difference.

For what you want and what you are willing to do, just replace your struts with GR2's and go on your way.
