Ok so as the title says, first gear is FUBARED. What options should i look at into fixing this problem. Im looking to do it as cheap as possible and as time costly as possible. any help is appreciated.

I went out to the track to get my first run wit my new 16g, i guess lots o torque, sticky tires, and a brand new clutch = 1st gear said fuck it. lol i was revving then launched and went no where and all you heard was CLANK! clank clank and lots of little pieces bouncing around. The rest of the gears are still fine but when the engine is running at all you can hear little chunks bouncing around in there. i was pissed i didnt even get one run in! sucked, then i limped her home aprox 20 miles wit the hazards on starting in 2nd gear and metal chunks clanking the whole way back. so PLZ somebody help me!!

Start looking for a new tranny.

or rebuild it to be strong enough to handle your new found power. did that tranny have the 275k+ miles in your sig? if so then be happy it lasted that long. :-D

Rebuilding a legacy 5MT is pointless.

It'll cost far more than replacing it.

How much money do you want to spend?

Personally, I am a proponent of switching to the cheap everyday NA 5mt tranny and running slighly less sticky tires. 100's of launches and nary a broken gear.

RA gears don't drop into the legacy turbo case, and they are a total waste of money. Plus, the gear ratios suckleballs.
