WRX 96 vs Legacy 2.2 93 ECU running with EJ20G

Hi Folks !

I'm rebuilding one Impreza 94 1.6 FWD. I changed it in to AWD (from a totalled Legacy TW 93) and put one JDM EJ20G engine from a 00 WRX.

Today, this car is running with the original 1.6 ECU, AWD and EJ20G aspirated. I know it's not a good idea, but I'm using it just for very short distances.

Now it's time to change it's ECU and answer my big doubt.... What is the best ECU to run this car ? I still have many engine parts, intake manifold and ECU from the totalled Legacy, but I also have one WRK 96 ECU, but just the ECU. Working with electronics and wire harness is not a problem to me.

The target is but one IHI 22 Turbine, STI top mount Intercooler, Prodrive fuel pump, Agency Power side feed fuel rail and 550cc injectors just to start playing ;)

I'm putting some pics in a blog http://prodrivebr.blogspot.com it's in Portuguese, but you can see many pics from the transformation process.

All advises and help will be very welcomed !

Thanks

JL

If it were me, I'd probably go with the WRX ECU as it's most likely going to be closer to what you're wanting to get to in terms of power and original tuning.

I might be just blabbing but I would go with the WRX ecu.

Because they were closest to your jdm ej20, and that motor in japan came in the legacy using awd which is probably quit similiar to the awd you put into the impreza.

WRX ecu. It can run off of the legacu ecu but will basically be as fast or slower than a stock legacy turbo. And you'll get weird CEL's like cam position/angle sensor.
