I took out the stock stereo setup in my 92 legacy sport and put in a standard cd player. I used the brackets that were attached to the stock stereo to center the aftermarket one. But now i have this huge open space above and below my stereo and i am wondering what people have used to fill in that space and make it look good and/or functional

I'm doing something similar to this.

Tell me, how did you go about making the pod face? Just cut some plastic, or fiberglass something? My idea was to make a fiberglass box that could hold the gagues that slides into one of those metal holdyourstereointothedash cages. anyone with fiberglassing experiance think it's doable for a first timer?

That's cool. I've wanted to do that but can't really justify the cost of all the stuff for it. All I really need is something that plays CDs and Tom Leykis.

I recently installed a WRX cd changer and have a 1/2 din space below it. I was thinking I'd like to do something cooler than a blank piece of plastic. Any suggestions?

go to the scrap yard and take a 1.5 din pocket out of junker. or go to the dealer and buy one. there is a part number floating around here somewhere.

You should be able to figure out the part number using the dealer system pretty easily. Just make sure you get the 1.5 DIN (3") and not the 1 DIN (2") pocket. Cost is $50 and it's a special order item.

I got one plus a bunch of other interior pieces for like 20 bucks at the scrap yard off of a 91 L
