Hi,

I was given a Autometer tacho for xmas, but instructions with the guage say to connect the sense wire to the coil. But the EJ20G I have has 4 coils, so not sure what to do. I guess the signal would come from the ecu.

Can anyone help me with this?

Cheers

On the US cars, there is an engine tachometer output pin. It's normally there for the TCU on auto trans cars. However I have used it as an engine rpm signal for my wideband O2 sensor setup without any problems.

thankx.

I found ecu connector diagram for a EJ22/EJ22T and have found the require pin out. I hope this is the same on my EJ20G. Probably Subaru seem pretty lazy about changing things between different models.

Cheers

pull your gauge cluster out and hool all 4 lines behind there.
directly behind the factory tachometer, there is your posi and negi.
which also have the symbols next to them so cant go wrong.
your orange wire from your A/m tacho is illumination so from one of the bulbs follow a line that should lead to a screw thats where that needs to go.
the green from your A/M tacho needs to go to one of the screws behind the fuel gauge.

and thats it .
as long as you get your power supply right, dont be afraid to hit and miss with the others.

good luck!!
