SVX ECU tuning company interested in developing Legacy stuff

Thier site:
http://www.ecutune.com/
If you have a sec, go take a peek at the site and let me know if your interested in having any of the products available for the SVX developed for our 1st gens.
The company is not mine, I stumbled across it on CarDomain looking at a turbocharged SVX and soon e-mailed them asking if they had any products for our Legacy's. Since then we have been constantly e-mailing information to and from eachother.
He is starting to ask questions that I am having a hard time answering (Massive use of the search button

), so any senior experts (hinthint VIKASH a.k.a Vrg3 winkwink) willing to help would be greatly appreciated.
I will post my e-mails in this thread if requested.

So the chip holds 2 switchable maps instead of one?
That's cool but they make it sound like pretuned chip. Not ideal IMO.

i dont understand, it says its for the SVX motor, they say nothing about the Legacy, is it interchangeable or something?

^^ That's why he uses the phrase "developed for our 1st gens".

Thanks for pointing that out.

Well, I can't say that I'm necessarily looking for 500hp, though the thought is cool. If they can come up with a good product that won't require me to saw off a leg, I'd seriously consider it. I'm shooting for the 200 to 250 mark.

I think something that is user adjustable would be good. I dont know about pre-tuned stuff, results would vary depending on your setup.

The main thing you need to convey to him is that the turbo legacies, (primary market...sorry n/a guys) utilizes the Hitachi ECU's....and probably a different architechture. However if they can do it....that's great.
I would be interested in the multitune option, however they don't give any specifics on what is able to be tuned? Fuel, timing, etc?
Feel free to pass along my email to him, as I'm to the point where I need EM. The things I would like to be able to adjust in the stock ECU are the following
- MAF sensor map (to allow for the JECS sensor use, or possibly larger (wrx)
- Timing maps
- boost map (ability to raise the boost limit)
- fuel cut (ability to raise the stock fuel cut limit independently of the boost limit)
- data logging capabilities (this may not be possible, and is more of a wishlist type item)
If he can produce something like this that will allow the stock ECU to be tuned/tweaked and can make the interface semi easy to use....he'll have a winner on his hands. Like I said....the items above are the things I would like to see as deliverables from the chip.

I've tweaked the topic & the poll, and moved the thread to better reflect the post content.

I have shared your thoughts and feelings with the company.
Thanks for your input.
And thank you all, it is a big help for us to gauge intrest in this development with input from the mod community.

I've spoken to this guy before about the SVX.
If it's like the SVX stuff he makes, it's non-end-user tunable.
Keep that in mind.

I'd get one of these...Watching this thread for updates - stage two option for a daily driver...

yeah really if they can make something for the every day driver. tunned but not too harsh. I would be all over that

I've been talking with him, we've got the path down for what he wants to do...it's just a matter of him working on it.

If the price was right I would buy it right now!

How would this be better than a PerfectPower piggy back system - cheaper and less complex?
But yes, +1 for them doing! I'd love to chip my car - so envious of the BMW crowd with their Conforti chips!!

This would require zero tuning on your part. Plug in the chip, put in the injectors, swap the MAF & plug.....and that's it.
I don't know if he "tunes" it at all, or what things are tweaked, but I told him we also wanted a raised fuel cut limit & boost levels. So I'm waiting to see how things progress.

This will be so cool if it works out! Thanks for pursuing it! Rock!!!

If we could get a rough price on this perhaps we could take pre-orders and if a number of us (like 30 or so) put down a small deposit of say $20 bucks that might light a fire under him...
What did the SVX product cost again? Suppose this would be priced similarly?

It may be a little early in the game to take pre-orders.
I'm not sure what the cost of the SVX unit costs. It may be a good idea to post on the svx network, see who, if any are running his chip, and how they like it.
