Just finished installing the msd dis2
For anyone else who might need help
the center wire off of the coil is +
There are two red wires and two brown/orange wires. The "like" wires get twisted together.
The two red wires go to the output of the ignitor (the wires going TO the coil) and the two brown/orange wires finish the path to the center coil wire which is the +.
the two wires to the side are trigger wires
From there its really connecting the out's of the ignitor to the msd to in's of the coil. - VERY easy.
DONT ground the two extra wires - solid blue/solid brown - UNLESS you are using the ignition interrupt of the two step feature.
TRIPLE CHECK ALL WIRES and solder EVERYTHING. I happened to use crimps - but I happen to do a lot of wiring and know what Im doing.... USE HEATSHRINK!!!!
The msd made a HUGE difference in the idle which is now super smooth. The msd unit also made the car less of a pig below 2k rpm. Im waiting until I install my j&s safeguard to rev the car over 3500 rpm (when I go over that, the car detonates from worn rings and advanced timing). The J&S should be able to save the motor from any killer detonation...
This is all in precursor to my new motor of course - Im getting everything dialed in on this motor first as kind of a 101 course....
