ok, so i got a set of legacy wagon springs off a guy on a different forum, box says they will fit a 91-99 legacy wagon. pull them outa the box to find the rears are tapered. so after some searching I found that to make these work i need the rear tophats from a 90-91 n/a legacy. my question is...

do i just need the upper spring perches or do i need the top hat as these are two different parts.

also, where the 90-91 wagons about the same weight as my 99 outback wagon? I dont want to waste my time if i'm just gonna end up with the saggy rear end.

thanks..

If searched, you surely came across this question before.

I suggest searching again. Jamal made a thread, I've confirmed, the swap to convert from non-tapered to tapered springs has been covered more than Britney Spears has not.

I think all the 90-91 rear tops are one piece with the perch attached.

One other problem you might have is that the 90-91s have the lower spring perch at a different height on the strut. What that will do with those springs concerning ride height might be a mystery.

The only springs I personally would use on a wagon are the whitelines.
