I got some body work done on the rear for a steep $2000 XD the entire rear panel was replaced with a new one, and now its starting to rust again. it is covered by warrenty, but seems like the problem is salt and/or rocks chipping away the paint in the well. Anyone have a solution for this? I also remember something about a bed coating stuff, its like rubbery and should get rid of the noise when rocks hit the well and make it more quiet? All ideas are well appreciated.

I would use either rubberized undercoat...or spray in bedliner (if your budget allows)

Im pretty sure my budget allows i already spent 10,000 on the car from the day it was newly owned to now. And its 100% stock XD, good tip for all of you is think hard before spending over $1000 on 1 repair because it will add up.

Ya i was thinking about that bedliner stuff, how much can it cost?? Do they have it in a spray bottle? or something, should my body shop be able to do this?

where did you get your rear fenders because i cant find any and mine are starting to rust.

I am getting ready to repair rust by cutting out the rusty metal and replacing with new sheet metal. Don't have welding equipment, so am going to bond the patch with 3M Automix Panel Bonding Adhesive. Adhesives are starting to be used in place of welds at the factory to install non-structural sheet metal quarter panels, door skins, van side panels, etc.

Might as well check in. That guy forgot alot of clips which seal out the fender and forgot a few bolts that hold the trim at the top in place and again seals. (which resulted in water leaking in and alot of wind noise...) The guy went bankrupt so i can't go to him. So i sprayed all the surface rust with this rust converter spray. Then sprayed this sound proofing and sealing spray insider the rear fender(removed all the interior in the car) much much better. But i can't find the clips that hold the trim below the rear glass. Anyone have a part number?

I think the clips you need are part# 65056AA000 (X2),
and 65056AA010 (X4)

Have the rusty metal cut out, about 1-2" around the back half of the wheel arch. Now will have to cut and form a replacement. Never worked sheet metal so forming the wheel well section with flange will be a real challenge.
