Well for about a minute anyway, I had to let it die because it was smoking - and it didnt stop... I believe my turbo's seals are shot... Im hypothesizing the turbo was killed by the last motor eating a ring... Grr... Now to flush all the oil and take the turbo out...

Anyway, someone recommend/sell me a cheap T3!!!!

Oh, minus the money I have/will be getting for the car having been hit twice, this build is currently at $1400. The actual cost was a lot higher... So much for my $1000 goal....

Update - Turbo is not blown - there was a ton of oil leftover in the exhaust from the previous motor blowing it there.

I got the engine to idle by trimming fuel 45% on the safc II. Im trying to avoid any more tuning temptations until I get my zeitronix and install it.

I also still have to order my boost gauge. I have a ton of prosports already in the car.... Ill take pics of everything when Im finished setting it up. I will have like 6 gauges, the zeitronix zt2, and the safc II by the time all is said and done... The dash is going to look like it came out of a fighter jet by the time im done with it...

Its going to be hard to sleep knowing that thing is outside waiting for me to play with it. Even my dad, who was pissed about my taking over the driveway and garage for the past month seemed excited. Its just so weird to be taught all my life that cars are things best left for mechanics and then to build this entire motor from the cases up.

Anyway its time to go to bed, and the purpose of this reply is to say how grateful I am to be part of this community. I would like to thank all those who participated in any of my threads. I would not have been able to build this motor without this board. Also, thank you to the admins and mods for taking the time to put up and maintain this great site. :-)

Thank you again,

Danny

nice work man. Awesome feeling when you take it all apart and it all goes back no problem.

Let see some pics once you get the gauges in.

I know my father will be WAAYYY happier than I when my project finally rolls under its own power. Good job with the full rebuild, but lets see some shots.

Ill get some up as soon as I can pry the wrenches out of my hands - I got home late from work and spent all night putting my zeitronix wideband in.

The old O2 sensor hole was too narrow and I couldnt get the downpipe off of the turbo, so I had to use a die grinder to open the hole up. Took me a while, but it worked!!! Now to install the rest of the gauges and TUNE!!!!
