ok, going by the manual it says to remove electrical connector then the rubber boot...the writing on the boot says to >push<..well, i push and nothing happens, what the heck am i doing wrong?

maybe i am way to tired to be doing this and trying to find drain plug holes

you have to Pull the tab on top of the boot to remove it and then push the clip in and sideways to remove the bulb

yay! got it...the bulbs were just very stubborn..in fact, it looks like they were the original ones from the factory, which i guess isnt too unlikely as the car only has 96k even though its a 1993..
