Overrevved, now weird dashlight problem

I accidently shifted from 5th to 2nd instead of 4th, and hit around 9,000RPM very briefly (pushed the clutch back in almost instantly)
Now they ABS, brake and battery lights all stay on below 4500rpm, but turn off after
any ideas what could cause that?

apparently I fried the alternator.
Replaced it with a spare, and its all gravy.

Yup, I've done that before, just not the way you did it. In fact, you can drive the car that way for a long time. . . It just gets annoying. Some of my first posts here were about just this. ..

Alternator was dead so the car eventually died when the battery ran out of go juice

Wow what a weird consequence to a bad downshift .. did you guess it was the alternator or did a super subaru guru help you out?
