I have a 1990 legacy l. I ran out of gas because my gauge doesn't work. After I put more gas into it it just ran really crappy and if you tried to put it in gear and let off the clutch it would die. I checked spark today and i didn't have any so I swapped in another coil and charged the battery and now get spark. My alldata says there is a different number ignition coil for a Manual v.s. an automatic. Mine is an manual but the coil is off an auto but I get spark. What is the difference in coils?

I don't think it should matter as most Subaru coil's are universal anyway.

Well its not the pump or the filter. I checked pressure and it gave me around 35 psi during crank and that was specs. I put another coil on and have spark, spark plugs have been cleaned. Now I had crank sensor and cam sensor from another subie and that changed nothing. I check the injectors with a fluke injector tester and watched the scope and they seem to pulse once but don't keep pulsing during cranking. I sprayed the intake and it seems to fire up but dies. I have no idea what to do now. I thought the crank or cam sensor would be out so the injectors would be getting bad signals. Could it be timing?
